![]() Sub–Urban Group is a loose collaborative of individuals, groups and churches working together to pursue creative, long-term solutions to poverty. We trust a whole gospel to meet the needs of our whole neighborhood.
Mission Our mission is to establish authentic, mutual partnerships between urban and suburban individuals, groups and churches, serving as an incubator for innovative solutions to poverty in our neighborhood. In response to Christ's call, we're joining our neighbors in restoring our South Atlanta community into a place where families can flourish and the Shalom of God is present. What We’re Doing Sub-Urban has three areas of focus: Awareness, Neighboring, and Renewal. Awareness Sub–Urban Group serves as a conduit for vision, raising awareness about Jesus, justice and the city to the broadest possible audience. Neighboring Sub–Urban Group listens to local residents, churches, and community leaders, awakening to the greatest command of Jesus, “loving God and loving neighbor.” Renewal Sub–Urban Group acts as a relational hub for urban–suburban renewal, aiming our action in the direction of measurable change. Why We Love Love. We love because the hopeful and living way of Jesus Christ compels us to love God and to love our neighborhood as ourselves. We believe God wants to restore the brokenness of all things through the person of Jesus Christ; our relationships with God, others, ourselves, and creation. We don’t just believe in the resurrection. We want to practice resurrection in the way we live and work. So, we trust a whole gospel that meets the needs of a whole neighborhood, including all of who we are as mind, body, soul, and emotion as well as the spiritual, social and economic fabric of our neighborhood.
