Getting ready for the first day of school can involve lots of preparation and ritual. New haircuts, new shoes, a fresh attitude that this year is going to be awesome. And, of course, backpacks and school supplies to help make the greatness happen!
Thanks to our partners and donors, students in South Atlanta were able to purchase new backpacks filled with essential supplies at super affordable prices. Over 150 families stopped by Carver Neighborhood Market in the days leading up to school to purchase their supply-filled packs for only $5 and $8.
We are thankful to be able to offer these needed supplies at a reduced cost that allows parents to provide for their children – or teenagers to provide for themselves – on the first days of school. This model of exchange creates choice and supports the dignity of our local families.
Thank you for all who give to FCS and make our Back To School sale a reality. We’re especially grateful to All Souls Church and Signature FD for their partnership and providing backpacks. We hope all our neighborhood students feel prepared and confident as they embark on the year ahead!
