The moment Thanksgiving draws to a close (and actually before), the hoopla of Black Friday is underway. Shoppers search the stores for epic deals as a jump start to the Christmas season, and continue this tradition in online venues on Cyber Monday.
In 2012, Giving Tuesday was established after Thanksgiving to collectively consider ways to support the good work happening in our communities, cities, and world. FCS is proud to be a part of this “international day of giving” as part of the holiday season kick-off.
As we consider gratitude and giving this year, we have been pondering our “why.” Why we are passionate about our work. Why we do what we do. And why we are committed so deeply to the success of others. We believe that all people have value, dignity, and something to offer to the community. These core values guide everything that we do at FCS.
We are immensely grateful to be surrounded by generous people who share these values and feel motivated to participate in our community. Your support translates into programs that are based on honest exchange in which each participant’s contribution is valued and needed. As a result, our neighbors have ownership of their transformed community, and they are empowered to sustain and continually improve it.
We have found such joy in living out these values, and we invite you to join us on this beautiful journey! If we work together to build on our neighbors’ strengths, we will co-create a healthy and vibrant community where families can thrive. Join us!
